Raising the Bar: Hateley Recognised at the 2025 Master Builders Victoria (MBV) Awards
There’s a certain satisfaction that comes from standing back at the end of a project and seeing it all come together. For the Hateley team, that feeling was amplified at this year’s Master Builders Victoria Awards, where three of our projects – and the people behind them – were recognised among the state’s best.
Our Dalhousie project was awarded the top gong as Northern Victoria’s Best Custom Home Over $2 million, while Marra House received a Special Commendation for Best Custom Home $1 – $2 million. Capping off a hugely successful night, Hateley was named Northern Region Residential Builder of the Year 2025 – a reflection of the consistency, culture and craftsmanship that underpin everything we do.
“A sincere thank you to Master Builders Victoria for this incredible recognition,” says Grant Hateley, Director of Hateley Construct. “Construction is a tough industry to be in, and I want to congratulate every other award winner in the state – I genuinely commend the success you’re achieving in your businesses.”
For us, these awards are a reminder of the collective effort it takes to deliver exceptional projects like the ones we have the privilege of being a part of. Every project begins just as an idea. What turns that idea into a finished home is the skill, problem-solving and teamwork that all happen behind the scenes.
“To our entire team, your unwavering commitment and collective expertise have been the backbone of our success,” Grant reflects. “The culture we’ve built together is something I’m incredibly proud of – this recognition belongs to all of you.”
The Dalhousie project, a standout of the night, also highlighted the strength of the people who lead from the ground up.
“For Dalhousie, I want to give special acknowledgment to our site foreman, Alex,” says Grant. “Your leadership on-site has been invaluable – your ability to manage the team, problem-solve on the fly, and ensure every detail is attended to has made a significant impact. I’m deeply grateful for the trust and friendship we have.”
Dalhousie was a collaboration in the truest sense – one that brought together design brilliance and construction mastery.
“Thank you to Hecker Guthrie and Brayshaw Architecture for your outstanding design,” says Grant. “Your creativity brought this project to life with elegance and sophistication.”
And, of course, no project comes to life without trust.
“To our clients, Andrew and Georgie – thank you for the opportunity and for the trust you placed in our company. It’s one of our most enjoyable projects to date.”
Looking Forward
Awards like these are gratifying, but for the Hateley team, they’re also fuel – a reminder to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in construction and design.
“We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and we look forward to what’s next,” says Grant. “The Master Builders Victoria Awards give builders like us the opportunity to showcase our craft – and that inspires us to keep building a future we can all be proud of.”
